Privacy Policy

Senior Care Record Map is a static website that helps families research senior-care facilities using public government records. This policy explains what data is involved, who processes it, and the choices you have.

The short version

We don't ask you to create an account, and we don't sell your personal information. Senior Care Record Map has no server of its own — the site is served as static files. The data that is collected comes from a few third-party services we use for analytics, advertising, and payments, each described below. Your saved facilities, tags, and notes stay in your own browser.

What we store in your browser (not on a server)

When you tag, rate, or save a facility, or unlock Pro, that information is kept in your browser's local storage on your device. It is not transmitted to us and never leaves your browser except when you choose to export it (for example, a CSV shortlist you download). Clearing your browser storage removes it.

Analytics

We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate traffic — which pages are visited and roughly where visits come from — so we can improve the site. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.

Advertising

Some pages may display ads served by Google AdSense. When ads are active, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, and learn more about how Google uses data at How Google uses information from sites that use its services. In regions that require it, you will be asked for consent before personalized ads are shown. Ads are off until the site is approved for AdSense; when off, no advertising cookies are set.

Payments

Senior Care Record Map Pro is sold as a one-time purchase processed by Gumroad. When you buy Pro, Gumroad — not Senior Care Record Map — collects and processes your payment details and email under Gumroad's privacy policy. We never see or store your card number. To unlock Pro on the site, you enter the license key Gumroad issues you; the key is verified through Gumroad's API and the entitlement is then stored in your browser's local storage.

Cookies & similar technologies

The core site does not require cookies to function. Cookies or similar storage may be set by the third parties above (advertising and, where applicable, analytics). You can control or block cookies in your browser settings; blocking them will not prevent you from browsing the map or reading facility records.

Data about facilities

The facility records shown on Senior Care Record Map are public government data — from the California Department of Social Services (Community Care Licensing) and the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS Care Compare). They are not personal information about you.

Your choices & rights

You can clear your saved data at any time by clearing this site's browser storage. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you; because we don't maintain user accounts or a server-side profile of you, most such data lives either in your own browser or with the third parties named above. For requests related to payment data, contact Gumroad; for advertising data, use the Google controls linked above. For anything else, reach us via the contact page.

Children

Senior Care Record Map is intended for adults researching care for older family members and is not directed to children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
